Dad Starts Crying When Son Hands Him Keys To A Car That Was Destroyed 50 Years Ago

Who says grown men don’t cry. When they receive a surprise gift of a beloved car lost 50 years, they sure do. That is exactly what happened to Charlie Green when his son, Michael Green, gave him a 1955 Chevy Bel Air.

Five decades earlier, Charlie had owned the exact model and loved it dearly. He got it when he was 16. A year later he lent it to his sister to drive to California and, says Green “it broke down and she sold it from underneath him”. Michael Green lured his father into the parking lot of a Piggly Wiggly. Charlie was so moved just to see the same model car but promptly broke down in tears when it was revealed that Michael had bought it for him.

Sure beats a pair of socks as a gift. The moment was captured on video and posted to YouTube. It was posted to the Angry Grandpa Show YouTube page on Tuesday and has since been watched over a million times. Nice one Michael. The video starts with Green explaining the background and how his father had only two things on his bucket list: to own a house and a 1955 Chevy Bel Air.

“Last year I got him the house. This year, the car,” Michael says on the video. I would like to adopt Michael I think. Later in the video we see Chevy being Green Jr’s house and Green giving him the keys. “I told you dad one day I was going to get it for you… It’s yours,” Green tells his father as the old man starts to weep while leaning on the bonnet of the car. Father and son hug as Charlie wipes the tears from his eyes.

The well orchestrated moment was captured on video by Greens girlfriend Bridgette West. Bridgette has made a number of video of her boyfriend pulling pranks on his father for the The Angry Grandpa Show but this latest one will be hard to beat. I can only imagine the work that had gone on before hand to get the car and set the whole thing up. Now I just need to work out what to get my father for Christmas.
