If You’ve Watched The Final Series Of The Vampire Diaries, This Will Make You Cry
It’s always hard when something you’ve been invested in for so long comes to an end. On March 10th we did just that, after eight seasons, and 171 episodes, we bid farewell The Vampire Diaries.
The show which premiered on The CW back in 2009 has ultimately come to an end in epic fashion. The creators Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson have managed to craft a beautiful episode to show the series off. The episode was full of moments, sad, happy, beautiful and many cameos from our dearly departed characters such as Lexi, Joe, Jenna and so many more!
The cast had a hard time saying goodbye but took to social media to show their love for the show. Nina Dobrev who played Eliana Gilbert and Katherine Pierce, Amara and Tatia throughout the show’s history took to Instagram to thank longtime friend Zach Roerig who played Matt Donovan. “8 years ago, this fool and I boarded a plane to Vancouver to shoot a pilot,” wrote the actress, who left the show after season 6 but returned for the finale.
“We didn’t know each other, but we BOTH only brought 1 carry on and then a snowboard bag as checked luggage. … We became fast friends. And almost got fired. Luckily we survived to the bitter end without any broken bones (surprisingly) and now 8 years later we have a show that we’re proud of and a friendship that will last a lifetime.”
She then went on to post a series of pictures of herself and fellow cast members saying; “Each of these photos is from season 1. We were all so young, and SO excited about the new and exciting show we had booked. And even more excited that we got to be a part of it together. It felt like we had this awesome little secret, no one had seen Vampire Diaries yet. But we couldn’t wait to spill the beans, for the pilot to air so people could see it.”
“We hoped so much that people would like it. Prayed that it would be a success and continue for many years. We got our wish. 8 seasons later, some are engaged, some married and some have fetuses of their own. These are incredible women and forces to be reckoned with. I’m so proud of you all.”
Damon Salvatore or as we now need to refer to him as Ian Somerhalder posted a short and sweet message; “Wow saying goodbye to 8 years… wow. Thank you all! Watching the Finale right now! Thank you #tvd fans around the world.” Kat Graham the force that embodied witch Bonnie Bennet added; “The end is near… thank you to all the beautiful fans for your support during the 8 years of #thevampirediaries. … Goodbye Bonnie Bennett.”
We’re lucky that this is one of the shows that got to say goodbye, it’s been a long ride and this show has experienced a successful run and although the series finale will make you cry it won’t be sad tears, you’ll be feeling epic. Goodbye Vampire Diaries.
