Victoria Beckham, in a recent appearance on the Daily Show said of David ‘He’s my soulmate. He’s the most incredible husband. We complement each other. ‘He inspires me every day, with the children, the way he treats me; it just works. We are lucky to have each other.’ Appearing on Desert Island Discs in January David spoke about his marriage to Victoria explaining: ‘We’ve got strong parents. We were brought up with the right values.’

‘Of course you make mistakes over the years, and we all know marriage is difficult at times but it’s about working through it.’ To celebrate the 20th anniversary of this first meeting of his wife Victoria, David Beckham is planning on buying Victoria her own exotic island in the Caribbean. According to the Daily Star newspaper, the former Manchester United star is set to pay £7 million for Bird Cay in the South Berry Islands.

This beautiful island property is a 250 acre plot with 4.75 miles of beaches, a mansion with a guest house and five cottages for members of staff. Other Sites David Beckham has been thought to be considering purchasing are Sandy Cay in the Abacos in the Bahamas and Toad Hall Estate in the Virgin Islands. ‘They love being on Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island, so for David this was the next logical step.

‘David wanted to give her the gift of privacy to mark two decades since they first started dating, a place where she can be totally relaxed.’ ‘The Caribbean islands are incredible, so they really are spoilt for choice, but Bird Cay is looking like the one.’ According to sources “David wanted to give her that gift of privacy to mark two decades since they first started dating, a place where she can be totally relaxed.”

The price of £7 million for the island could be considered loose change for the Beckhams who are believed to be worth over £500 million. David Beckham has denied he is considering buying an island for the 20th anniversary stating ‘It’s completely false’. No matter how David chooses to celebrate his anniversary with his wife, no doubt it’s set to be a lavish affair.
