It’s Official – Josh Brolin Will Play Cable In ‘Deadpool 2’

Finally, after many possible candidates to play the antagonist in the upcoming sequel to 2016’s smash hit Deadpool, we now finally have a Cable! Josh Brolin has officially been cast as Cable opposite Ryan Reynolds Deadpool.

For months now the productions have been on what seemed like Mission Impossible, to find the perfect Cable. With it almost being played by Michael Shannon, David Harbour and even rumours of conversations with Brad Pitt and Russell Crowe to play the role, Brolin appears victorious. This isn’t Brolin’s first Marvel villain as he also plays a key role for upcoming Marvel Studios Movies playing Thanos where he’s signed on for four films.

The Deadpool sequel is leaning towards starting in Vancouver during the month of June. David Leitch will be helming the sequel after Tim Miller’s departure following creative differences. To no surprise, Reynolds returns as the ‘merc with a mouth’. The film already promises to expand on the X-men universe and bring in some new characters.

Zazie Beetz has been cast as Domino a super-powered merc. Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld is the co-creator behind Cable and described him as the opposite of the slick ‘hero.’ Cable is louder, is obeyed out of fear as well as very controlled with uncontrollable rage. In the comics, Cable is a villain who’s from the future and was the son of a familiar X-men mutant known as Cyclops or Scott Summers.

Brolin is an academy award nominated star who nearly won for 2009’s Milk. Since then he’s been working hard. He currently leads the cast of Granite Mountain, and a firefighting adventure debuting Sept. 22nd. He also heads November 3rd Soldado a sequel to Sicario. A release under the direction of George Clooney’s means we’re in for another hit.

Brolin even stars in The Legacy of the Whitetail Deer Hunter for a December 25th release. Brolin’s role as Thanos is one that is very well known and highly anticipated. Brolin now has two highly anticipated films to his upcoming productions list. Avengers: infinity War Part 1 debuts in 2018. He will face up against earth’s mightiest heroes.
