Jason Bateman Confirms He’s Signed Up for Season 5 Of Arrested Development

Way back in 2003, a clever little sitcom came to TV that becomes an instant fan favourite, Arrested Development.

The show originally aired on Fox Broadcasting Company and ran for three seasons from November 2003 to February 2006 when it was cancelled due to low ratings. In 2013, however, Netflix in its rise to success decided to revive the critically acclaimed series for a fourth season which debuted fifteen episodes on May 26th. Now after many years of speculation regarding another season or a possible Arrested Development movie, we finally have an answer as to what’s next.

Recently star Jason Bateman signed on to star in the series’ fifth season (second on Netflix). While a movie would have been amazing, fifteen episodes just mean way more time with this dysfunctional family. Bateman is the first to sign on and we hope the rest of the original cast will follow. Announcing the news Bateman took to Twitter; “Look very probable I’m going to put some miles on the Stair Car this summer. Just officially signed on to more ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT today.”

Other original stars include; David Cross, Jeffrey Tambor, Will Arnett, Jessica Walter, Tony Hale, Michael Cera, Portia de Rossi, and Alia Shawkat. We doubt they won’t sign on to reprise their roles. We’ve been waiting for so many years and we may be waiting a little while longer. The show’s latest season is taking time to lift off but the best things in life are worth waiting for. Since two years ago, Brian Glazer, the show’s executive producer said he was currently working on new episodes for the show, seventeen to be exact.

Mitch Hurwitz who created the show signed the deal a few weeks earlier. The show will probably see filming starting next summer at the earliest. It will be exciting to see the Bluth family back in action as the dysfunctional family. We imagine that with a new season means new drama and challenges that no other family other than the Bluth’s know. Regardless of the wait we’re sure people are excited to see one of the greatest shows in TV history return.
