Original Hellboy Ron Perlman Had Dinner With New Hellboy David Harbour

Fans of the Hellboy franchise are disappointed to find out that Guillermo del Toro (Director) and Ron Perlman (Hellboy) will not be returning for the third film in the series.

The upcoming film will be a reboot with Neil Marshall taking the helm as director this time around and the Netflix series Stranger Things star David Harbour will play the title role. The reboot Hellboy: Rise of the blood Queen is, according to sources going to be a darker, more gruesome version of Hellboy, walking the razors edge between full on horror and comic book genres.

Writing on Facebook, Hellboy comic creator Mike Mignola said that the new film would be an “R-rated reboot”, suggesting a more adult tone than Del Toro’s films had. The screenplay is a collaboration between Hellboy Creator Mike Mignola, Andrew Cosby and Christopher Golden. Due to financial constraints and other issues, Guillermo del Toro Tweeted earlier in the year that the sequel with Ron Perlman will not be happening.

Ron Perlman initially responded defiantly on Twitter after hearing the news he will not be returning to the character he brought to the big screen and thanking his legion of fans for their kind words of support. Now a month later a “Détente Dinner” organised by comedian Patton Oswalt, with Ron Perlman and David Harbour has been a rousing success with Patton Oswalt apparently brokering a peace treaty between the two actors.

With posts on social media showing the three having a good time together. There appeared to be no hard feelings between Ron Perlman and David Harbour with Perlman posting on Instagram, “Good luck kid! Signed, the babe.”
David Harbour tweeted “I’d follow these two into the gates of hell…” Patton Oswalt described the evening as a smashing success.

Ron Perlman went onto social media giving David Harbour his blessing saying “Not since Bill Clinton, Menachem Begin, and Anwar Sadat has there been such an epic summit yielding such a little result! Apparently Patton Oswalt thought it was a good idea to host David Harbour and yours truly for a detente dinner. The result: I gained 3 pounds and ruined my liver!
