The show lasted for eight seasons and one hundred and twenty-one episodes. Well, the show ended in 2014. Now three years later the USA Network plans to revive the series after three years via a two-hour holiday movie. Psych: The Movie is slated to air on the network in December. James Roday and Dule Hill are set to return as the lovable pair that we fell in love with all those years ago.

The Psych movie will also see the return of other franchise vets, Timothy Omundson (Lassiter), Maggie Lawson (Juliet), Corbin Bernsen (Henry) and Kristen Nelson (Chief Vick). In the following months, the rest of the cast and crew will be announced.

“The ambitious friends — along with some returning fan-favourite characters — come together during the holidays after a mystery assailant targets one of their own. A comedic thrill ride follows as the wild and unpredictable Psych team pursues the bad guys, justice …and food!”

The revival was actually was also co-written by Roday and creator Steve Franks. “Psych is a beloved part of our USA family, and what better time to reunite with family than the holidays,” said Chris McCumber, President, Entertainment Networks for NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, in a statement. “Steve and James have taken the unique brand of comedy that the series honed over eight seasons and packed it into a two-hour movie that successfully rekindles one of the greatest bromances in television history.”

Psych was one of the USA Networks most successful shows. It joins the ranks of shows like Mr Robot, Suits, and more. Since the show ended back in 2014 the actors have each enjoyed some success in different projects. Roday has been featured in different TV shows in a guest star capacity. He’s been featured in Rosewood, Rush Hour and Blood Drive. Dule Hill has been featured in the Dwayne Johnson HBO show Ballers which stars Dwayne Johnson.

It’s going to be great to see these detectives back together again.
